Balancing Risk and Inclusion: Examining Banking Practices and Regulatory Approaches Towards NPOs and Derisking

The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law works to improve the legal environment for civil society, philanthropy, and public participation around the world.The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law was founded in 1992 as one of the first organizations to focus on the legal environment aspect of civic space. Working with partners from civil society, government, and the international community developing long-term relationships to advance reforms.

This mission that was mandated by ICNL and was conducted between July and October 2023, it aims at supporting ICNL’s work on civic space in the region and more particularly in Tunisia contributing to the protection and support of local partners’ work making it more relevant and impactful. In accordance with the FATF dynamics in the region and in Tunisia, this examination identifed the various constraints faced by civil society organizations. It had allowed all partners and actors to identify the avenues of improvement to better contribute to the respect of recommendation .
